Transport
Travel Choices
As a Living Smart Household, results are achieved through the choices you make in your everyday actions.
In transport, sometimes the greatest impact we have is with our less frequent travel actions that might relate to holidays/business trips etc.
If you're heading interstate, why not consider taking the bus or train, air travel contributes more CO2 per person than any other mode of transport.
If you always travel overseas or interstate for your holidays perhaps consider more local options, or if you go overseas every year, go biannually instead.
Sometimes we forget to take the time to explore what is on offer in our own backyards so to speak, you may find that a local holiday might turn out to be a refreshing and less stressful option.
Camping can be a great option or why not see what local eco tourism opportunities are available?
When you do travel you can choose to reduce your impact on the environment by taking advantage of approved carbon offset programs or by selecting to offset when you book your flights. See below for more information on Travel Offsets.
